Gud Amma ( Raw Mango chutney)

Gud Amma (Sweet and Sour Mango chutney)

 

Ingredients

Raw Mangoes :- 4
Onion seeds :- 1/4 tsp `
Saunf :- 1/2 tsp
Achar Masala :- 1 tsp
Black Salt to taste
Sugar :- 5 tsp

Method

  • Peel Mangoes and cut them into pieces.
  • Take kadai and put 1tsp oil.
  • Add onion seeds , achar masala ( Readily available in all grocery stores). cook a little make sure you don't burn them
  • now add chopped mangoes.
  • Put lid and cook for 5 mins.
  • Now add some water (for that gravy) and cook for further 5 mins.
  • Add sugar and simmer it for 2-3 mins (Sugar can be replaced with jaggery i.e. gud -- that's where it's got its name from)
  • Remove from stove and refrigerate it.
